A couple was arrested Wednesday in Pasco County after deputies said they were found passed out in a vehicle on the side of the road with an infant inside.

  • Couple found passed-out in vehicle with 7-month-old
  • John Roe Jr., Shirley Windham, charged with child neglect, drug possession

Deputies first responded to a call about a tan Chevrolet Blazer being "all over the road." The caller last saw the vehicle turn north on Flint Avenue from State Road 54.

Deputies located the vehicle in the woods on Flint Drive, which appeared to have rolled off the roadway into the brush.

The driver, John Roe Jr., 21, and passenger, Shirley Windham, 19, were passed-out with the vehicle still in drive and running.

Deputies said a 7-month-old girl was in a child carrier in the back seat.

Roe was arrested and charged with DUI, child neglect, possession of marijuana/paraphernalia.

Windham was arrested and charged for child neglect and possession of paraphernalia.

Officials did not say what happened with the child.
