The freak accident Monday at the Calypso Pool on Bearss Avenue sent the children to an area hospital complaining of stomach pain and nausea.

According to Hillsborough Fire Rescue, a broken pump spewed out excess chemicals, including chlorine, into the water, which sickened several children in the pool.

A hazardous materials team was called to the building.

Crews ventilated the building and the children were evaluated.

All are expected to be OK.
