Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Friday into Saturday and Sunday, with an early look at the week ahead.

  • Nice boating conditions
  • Hot and muggy
  • Increasing rain chances

The drier air moved in across the region and, as expected, limited the number of storms we’ve seen.

There will be a chance for an isolated storm overnight into early Saturday morning, but there will not be many. The best chance of seeing one of those storms will be inland away from the coast.

Otherwise, just expect partly cloudy to mostly clear skies with lows near the mid 70s, but upper 70s near the beach.

Saturday will start with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Clouds will build in the afternoon with a 30 percent coverage of afternoon storms. Highs will be in the low 90s.

Saturday night will be partly cloudy with any storms dying down. Lows will be in the mid 70s.

Sunday will feature increasing moisture in the atmosphere, so the storms will tend to start slightly earlier in the afternoon. Coverage will be at 40 percent. Highs will reach the low 90s before the storms begin.

Next week will feature more clouds back in the area with higher rain chances returning, as a rare summer cold front moves into the deep south.
