A Pinellas County teacher has created a new children’s book that introduces elementary school kids to the basics of engineering.

  • "STEM Club Trouble" introduces children to engineering
  • Book written by first-grade teacher in Pinellas County
  • It's first in seven-book series

The book “STEM Club Trouble” centers around three characters called Super Sprockets.

Rafael Robinson, a first-grade teacher at Douglas L. Jamerson, wrote the book with his partner, Cheryl Henry.  He said it teaches kids how to problem solve, while introducing them to engineering vocabulary.

“This is not just about engineering.  This is about creating problem solvers. And we have to start now, at the earliest ages possible. Exposing our kids to problems and letting them persevere through those problems,” Rafael Robinson explained.

"STEM Club Trouble" is the first book in a seven book series. Robinson and Henry founded the company, ituey, LLC, a stem educational company geared towards designing, writing, and publishing children’s literature.
