Pinellas County investigators arrested a medical assistant at an assisted-living facility Wednesday, charging her with video voyeurism after she secretly recorded two residents of the facility having sex and then shared the video on social media.

  • Alexis Williams, 20, facing two counts of video voyeurism
  • Incident occurred in 2016 at Bristol Court Assisted Living Facility
  • Williams recorded 81-year-old woman, 59-year-old man having sex

Officials said Alexis Williams, 20, recorded an 81-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man having consensual sex in a private room last August at the Bristol Court Assisted Living Facility. The couple reportedly were unaware that they were being recorded.

Arrest records show Williams captured the video and shared it online using Snapchat. Investigators said Williams was not arrested until Wednesday because of continued efforts to gather evidence since the incident.

While she was being released from custody Wednesday, Williams said she questioned the validity of the investigation.

"I asked them, 'Where's their proof?' and I won't say nothing else until they give me proof," Williams said.

Investigators, however, said they have proof, including Williams's= confession, surveillance video and records provided by Snapchat.

When asked if they had in their possession the actual video posted to Snapchat in August, investigators told us they could not reveal that information. Snapchat video is typically only available for 24 hours after it is posted unless it is sent directly to another user.

When investigators asked Williams why she recorded the couple, she reportedly told them she did it for her amusement.

Williams faces one count of video voyeurism and one count of video voyeurism dissemination. Officials from the Bristol Court Assisted Living Facility said she was fired immediately after they learned of the incident last year.
