Auburndale Police arrested a man Friday on felony warrants connected to a Jan. 20, 2017 incident in which a four-year-old boy shot and killed himself.

  • A'vion Weaver, 4, accidentally shot himself
  • Weaver was in the care of Demeko DeSean Robinson, 26, at time of death

Officials said Demeko DeSean Robinson, 26, was arrested at around 2:40 a.m. this morning after an Auburndale Police Officer located him sitting in his car in front of 376 Century Boulevard. On Feb. 23, the State Attorney's office issued warrants charging Robinson with:

  • Aggravated manslaughter of a child
  • Possession of a short-barreled rifle
  • Possession of an altered firearm
  • Tampering with evidence
