A 50-year-old man was killed in a vehicle crash Thursday night after losing control of his vehicle.
The crash occurred around 7:20 p.m. at SR 50 and South Main Street in Hernando County.
Troopers said Jeffrey Gommier, 50, of Dade City, was traveling eastbound on SR 50, when for an unknown reason, he lost control of his vehicle and departed the roadway, colliding with a railroad service ladder and other railroad utilities. The collision caused the truck to overturn multiple times.
Gommier was transported to Bayfront Hospital where he died from his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
