Adam Balkin is at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas has found new technology to control your shower preference.
It's called the U by Moen and is a Wi-Fi digital cloud based shower system. You can control the shower from the controller in your bathroom, or from your smartphone outside your shower.
You can also have pre-set temperatures if members of your family like different kinds of showers.
Everyone in the home can have up to 12 presets per shower.
You can set a timer anywhere from zero to 20 minutes. At the end of the timer, you can choose what happens. Water can keep running, or it can shut itself off. That’s a helpful feature if you have a child that wastes too much water.
There is also a scary part to the U: the prank mode.
So if someone has a phone, whether it's a kid playing a prank on his brother or sister while the sibling is in the shower, they can dial down or up the temperature.
The good news is that the device has a threshold so you can't go above a certain temperature and do some severe scalding of the prank victim.
