Whether you call it a boat or a bike, Kraken CycleBoats are taking the peddle pub to a whole new level.

"Our slogan is peddle, peddle, drink," co-owner Tony Mendina said.

Come aboard the Kraken and you'll get to see some of the best views Tampa Bay has to offer, but you're going to have to do a little work.

"It moves through peddle power," Mendina said. "We have 10 peddle stations around the centralized bar. Everyone peddles together. They move the paddle wheel and it propels the boat."

That may sound difficult, but with everyone peddling together it's easier than peddling a bike.

The boat has room for 15 people, so it's not all work and no play.

"You're not stuck on the same seat every time," Mendina said. "You can get up, switch seats, get a rest, take in some sun on the bench seat up front."

During the two-hour ride there's plenty of time for music, drinks and games. Halfway through the boat makes a stop.

"It's just a really cool thing to do for a birthday party, a bachelor party," Mendina said. "We get a lot of corporate team building events."

Right now, Kraken launches from the Tampa Convention Center and the Gulfport Marina. The company hopes to open a third location soon.
