People who take nature photographs at Circle B Bar Reserve in Lakeland are concerned about all the extra visitors in the wake of the latest viral gator video taken there.

  • 'Giant' gator video out of Lakeland goes viral
  • Circle B has gotten a lot of traffic since then
  • Nature photographers are worried the extra attendance could scare away wildlife

Winter Haven resident Ed Rizer takes pictures of wildlife at Circle B a few times a week.

“The variety of animals you might see out here," said Riser. "Also, the animals out here are used to people so you can get close to the animals to get pictures."

Rizer is part of a Circle B photographer’s Facebook group with hundreds of members.

“That way we keep the information amongst us and everybody can find the rare stuff,” said Rizer.

Rizer has taken thousands of pictures of rare birds, alligators and bobcats at Circle B.

The Circle B photographer’s group has gotten so many requests to join that it has temporarily stopped accepting new members.

Many group members are concerned that all the hoopla about Mr. Humpback will bring so many people to Circle B that it will lead to problems.

“If it gets too busy, there'll be all kind of people running around making noise, kids throwing rocks in the water,” said Rizer.

Rizer hopes the large crowds will eventually die down.
