A Leesburg husband and wife and their adult son were the victims of a drunk driver crash Friday night on the Howard Frankland Bridge.

The Florida Highway Patrol released the names of the victims Sunday morning.

According to troopers, Robert Getter, 76, and his wife Karen Getter, 73, died when their 2012 GMC Sierra pickup truck was clipped by a Honda Civic, overturned and went over the southern concrete barrier of the bridge and fell into the water below.

The couple's son, 52-year-old son Samuel Getter, later died at Tampa General Hospital.

Troopers say at about 9:45 p.m. on Friday two vehicles, the Civic and the Sierra, were traveling eastbound on the bridge near milepost 33. The driver of the Honda Civic failed to maintain control of the vehicle. The car hit the rear right side of the GMC Sierra, causing the pickup truck to rotate and overturn several times, the FHP report stated.

The driver of the Honda Civic, identified as Joshua Burbank, 25, of Wesley Chapel was arrested at the scene.

Burbank faces several charges including three counts of DUI manslaughter, one county DUI property damage and careless driving.
