Deputy Adam Pennell is headed home just in time for Christmas.
Pennell was released from rehab Tuesday following nearly two months of intense recovery after a hit-and-run driver struck him while he was assisting a motorist.
The driver was identified and arrested in November as Charles Lewis, 71.
Jessica Enchautegui-Otero, 33, the motorist Pennell had stopped to help, was killed in the Oct. 29 accident.
