President-elect Donald Trump tapped Disney CEO Bob Iger to join a new private sector business advisory group on Friday, the "President's Strategic and Policy Forum."

  • Iger among 16 leaders of large companies named to forum
  • Forum to be chaired by Blackstone chairman Stephen A. Schwarzman
  • Forum's first meeting will be in February

According to a press release from investment firm Blackstone, members of the new forum will "be charged with providing their individual views to the President – informed by their unique vantage points in the private sector – on how government policy impacts economic growth, job creation, and productivity."

“This forum brings together CEOs and business leaders who know what it takes to create jobs and drive economic growth,” said President-elect Trump. “My administration is committed to drawing on private sector expertise and cutting the government red tape that is holding back our businesses from hiring, innovating, and expanding right here in America.”

The forum will be chaired by Blackstone Chairman, CEO, and Co-Founder Stephen A. Schwarzman.

Along with Iger, Trump named CEOs from companies such as GM, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Walmart, Boeing, IBM and General Electric to the forum.

The Strategic and Policy Forum's first meeting with Trump is scheduled for the first week in February.
