The Moffitt Cancer Center has the attention of the White House and pretty soon, maybe the nation.
Two of Moffitt's top leaders, Dr. Thomas Sellers and Dr. William Dalton, spent some time at the White House this week.
They discussed the "Moonshot" program with the ORIEN partnership, The Oncology Research Information Exchange Network.
In his final State of the Union Address, President Obama said that Vice President Joe Biden would be spearheading a new initiative to cure cancer.
Last year Biden said that with a new moonshot, America can cure cancer. Enter the Moonshot program.
Turns out, the Moffitt Cancer Center has already been in talks with Biden's office about the plan, including Dr. Thomas Sellers, Moffitt's executive vice president and director.
