We had another round of strong storms Saturday afternoon. Several severe thunderstorm warnings had to be issued on storms with strong winds and frequent lightning.

We even had a couple of hail reports; one in Lake County and one in Osceola County.  We didn’t have quite as much damage or power outages as we saw with Friday’s storms.

High temperatures for the start of the weekend were once again hot, in the middle to low 90s.  Heat index numbers for the sixth day in a row were in triple digits.

Partly cloudy skies are in the forecast through the overnight hours.  Temperatures will be warm and muggy, falling into the middle 70s.

Happy Father’s Day!  Sunday will remain hot and humid with highs in the middle 90s and heat index numbers over 100 degrees.  Rain chances will drop back slightly, but there is still a chance for some afternoon showers and storms.  Summer also officially begins Sunday and a typical Central Florida pattern will hold for the first week of the season.  Temperatures in the 90s with afternoon storms.

In the tropics, Bill finally lost tropical characteristics and is now a remnant low tracking to the northeast.  No tropical formation is expected anywhere else in the next five days.
