BHSN holds inaugural Evening of Champions for local athletes

It was an evening for local athletes to shine in the first annual Bright House Sports Network's Evening of Champions.

Some 40 high school athletes and coaches were honored by BHSN at the A La Carte Pavillion in Tampa.

Taylor Anderson was honored as the female athlete of the year.

"There are so many athletes that are amazing in the Tampa Bay area and I'm just blessed that they picked me for Athlete of the Year," said Anderson.

Although it was the first BHSN Evening of Champions, Vice President and General Manager Alan Mason says it's the first of many to come.

"We all remember back to when we were in high school, good or bad if we played sports," Mason said. "Those are memories that last a lifetime. So our hope at Bright House Sports Networks, is that in some small way, we can be a part of the memories that these young folks will have for many, many years to come. "
