The man accused of shooting into George Zimmerman's truck has posted bond and is out of jail.

Matthew Apperson did not answer any questions directly as he left Seminole County Jail Saturday, saying only "I believe my attorney can answer those questions."

Lake Mary Police arrested Apperson on Friday, and he made his first court appearance early Saturday in Seminole County. Judge Michael Rudisill also set certain conditions: Apperson cannot possess any weapons (he has to turn in any that he owns) and cannot have any contact with Zimmerman.

Apperson's next court appearance is June 23.

Apperson's attorney Mark NeJame issued the following statement on Friday:

"We received word a couple of hours ago from the Lake Mary Police Department that a warrant had been issued for the arrest of Matt Apperson. We immediately scheduled for him to meet with law enforcement so he could be arrested and booked. He has done so. There are 3 counts; Aggravated Battery w a Firearm, Aggravated Assault w a Firearm and Shooting into an occupied vehicle. Bond is set at $35,000 and his release has been arranged.

"We expected this as Mr. Apperson, under the advice of counsel and exercising his Constitutional right did not provide additional statements to law enforcement. He had already made statements and this is deemed sufficient, as of now. Mr. Zimmerman apparently did make statements and as such, it appears a decision was made to arrest on the basis of Mr. Zimmerman's statements. That is neither unusual nor was it unexpected.

"The case will proceed through the criminal justice system appropriately and ultimately a determination will be made as what truly happened. Mr. Apperson will continue not to comment until such time as it may be deemed appropriate."

Police say Apperson fired at Zimmerman's truck along Lake Mary Boulevard on Monday. Zimmerman wasn't hit by gunfire, but he was sprayed with glass as the bullet flew through his vehicle.

Apperson told police that Zimmerman pulled a gun at him while he was driving and threatened to kill him. But Zimmerman told investigators that he never threatened Apperson and police believed him.

The arrest report says Apperson appeared to be fixated with Zimmerman.

The arrest report stated that Apperson told the cops that Zimmerman pulled a gun at him while he was driving and said ‘I’m going to kill you.”

But Zimmerman told Lake Mary police he never threatened Apperson, and police believed him.

In fact, Zimmerman told police Apperson threatened him, yelling, “You owe me your life. The only reason I didn’t press charges on you is because I wanted to kill you myself.”

Apperson is the same man who claimed Zimmerman threatened to kill him in September 2014. Apperson said Zimmerman asked him, "Do you know who I am?" during that road confrontation. No charges were filed in the September incident.

This is just the latest troubling incident for Zimmerman, who was acquitted in 2013 of the murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

In January a woman told Lake Mary police that Zimmerman threw a bottle at her during an argument. She later recanted the claim.
