"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away."

There are few people who call themselves moviegoers that don’t know this line ... That don’t know this movie.

And Charles Ross is not one of them.

"I watched it about 400 times," said Ross of the original “Star Wars IV: A New Hope.”

The Canadian actor combined savant-like knowledge of the original Star Wars trilogy with his career and born a Jedi was he.

His show, “The One-Man Star Wars Trilogy," at the Straz Center in Tampa through April 26, has been around the globe.

"I found out I underestimated the strength of Star Wars,” said Ross, “because it didn't matter, people that were wearing full-on couture clothing still understood what [R2D2 sounds] was, and that blew my mind."

Ross boils down the movies into about 20 minutes a piece -- every character and every sound effect.

His reaction to the latest trailer: "It was just fantastic."

“It made me remember being 8 years old, and it's the anticipation of what could be that is almost better that what is actually going to be on the screen. I think I like this part--anticipating--more than the actual product itself," Ross said.
