Fans of Treeumph! Adventure Course in Bradenton will soon have a new place to swing from the trees.

The company is now expanding to a new location in Hernando County. Commissioners recently approved a new 50-acre course opening off Cedar Lane, just east of Brooksville.

County Administrator Len Sossamon says the new course should mean good things for the county.

"Having this type of family-friendly adventure course activity will attract tourists to Hernando County," he wrote in a statement.

The 14-acre course in Bradenton, which is owned by Aaron and Kathy Corr, is already quite popular, drawing in more than 40,000 climbers each year. The majority of those climbers come from outside of Manatee County.

"This is very much a destination business people travel to get to this," owner Aaron Corr said.

Hernando County commissioners say they anticipate more than $2 million in economic impact each year. The county will pay $650,000 to develop the land, and the owners will lease the property to pay back the money they owe.

When it's all paid off, the county will let the couple by the property for $100.

"I think it’s a great deal for everyone involved," Corr said.

The adventure course is expected to provide more than 30 full-time jobs for the area. It's slated to open November 2016.
