A woman employed in a Tampa dental laboratory was arrested Friday for stealing gold teeth.

Andrea Hazelwood, 32, was employed in the shipping department for DDS dental lab between August and October. In that time the company said it received several complaints from customers that they were getting empty packages.

Police said Hazelwood removing gold dental crowns, bridges, dental caps, dentures and more from the packages before shipping them out.

Police said Hazelwood then pawned the stolen dental work at Gold Pros and Value Pawn. They said she made 25 pawn transactions between August and October.

The gold dental work was valued at $6,000.

Hazelwood is not the only one who has allegedly stolen teeth from DDS. Police said her boyfriend and co-defendant, Nicholas Crow, was an ex-employee of the lab and had also pawned stolen property on 17 separate occasions.
