Students at Braden River High School in Bradenton have found a special way to honor our military men and women this holiday season.

They're sending customized greetings online.

"They don't get to spend time with their family during Christmas," said Gianna Traylor, a junior.  "It lets people know they're thinking about them."

Traylor and around 170 other students in the web design class at the school have created customized Christmas greetings with a personal audio message for the military men and women who are away from home this year.

Senior, Ryan Hintze, said this was the first time he's ever written a soldier.

"It's pretty cool that I could do that thousands of miles away," said Hintze. "They can pull it up in a second and they appreciate it."

The students' teacher, Dan Crumpler, came up with the idea.

"I was a 20-year-old soldier in Vietnam, and I had never had Christmas away from home or away from family and friends my whole life," said Crumpler. "To just get one Christmas card before Christmas, it was heaven."

He hopes his students' personal Christmas greetings, located on the school's website, let those in the military know they're thinking about them and they care.

The class is asking the community to share the link with everyone they know, so the messages can be heard by military men and women all across the world.
