Julie Gargotta, Reporter

Julie Gargotta joined the News 13 team as a Reporter/Multimedia Journalist in December 2014. New to Florida, she is excited to learn about the people and places that make Orlando special.

Born in Sicily, Italy, but raised in Lancaster, Pa., Julie comes to Central Florida from Central Pennsylvania. At WGAL-TV in Harrisburg, Julie worked as a Traffic and News Reporter for 4½ years. On weekdays, she helped guide viewers around busy roadways; weekends were spent in the field, covering news from eight different counties.

Julie attended Temple University in Philadelphia, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Spanish. In May 2013, Julie completed her Master of Journalism degree at her alma mater and finished first in her program.

In her spare time, Julie takes dance classes, practices yoga and runs. She's completed three half-marathons in Philadelphia and hopes to run her first in Orlando next year. Julie also speaks conversational Spanish and Italian, loves to travel and enjoys freelance writing for several magazines.
