Nikita Kucherov scored twice to lift the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 3-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday.

Louis Domingue stopped 28 shots to help the Lightning end a two-game slide and move back to four points ahead of Boston for the top overall spot in the Eastern Conference standings. Victor Hedman also scored and Steven Stamkos added two assists.

Tampa Bay killed off five Edmonton power-play chances and kept Connor McDavid off the scoresheet, leaving him four points behind Kucherov for the league lead in points.

Ty Rattie scored for Edmonton and Al Montoya finished with 37 saves.

Kucherov scored the tiebreaking goal early in the second on the power play, taking a pass from Stamkos and snapping off a shot to the top far corner for his seventh game-winning goal of the season.

Kucherov added an insurance goal 11:34 in to the third period for his fourth multi-goal game of the season.

Edmonton took advantage of a fortunate break to take the lead on the opening shift of the game. After Domingue fumbled the puck behind his own net, it trickled in to the trapezoid area forcing him back toward his net. As he made his way back to the crease, Rattie managed to get the puck and bank it off Domingue's pads 14 seconds into the first period for his second goal in two games.

Hedman pulled the Lightning even with a slap shot off a faceoff that deflected off the stick of Rattie and past Montoya at 15:12, his 12th of the season.

NOTES: Lightning RW Ryan Callahan appeared in his 700th career game, 250th with Tampa Bay. Callahan played his first 450 games with the New York Rangers. Edmonton D Kris Russell missed his second consecutive game after blocking a shot against San Jose on Wednesday. Tampa Bay allowed five power-play goals in the previous three games. Lightning head coach Jon Cooper moved two victories behind John Tortorella for the most in franchise history.
