The person found dead in a van parked outside a Tarpon Springs Walmart died by suicide.

Tarpon Springs police made the announcement Friday after the discovery of the body Thursday evening and transportation of the body to the Pinellas-Pasco County Medical Examiner's office in Largo.

The crime scene investigation yielded no signs of foul play or any suspicious circumstances.

Officials said police received a call from an employee of the store around 1:20 p.m. Thursday in connection with an older model van parked in the parking lot of the Walmart located at 41232 U.S. 19. 

The caller reported "insect activity" inside the van, as well as a foul odor coming from inside.

When officers arrived at the scene and entered the van, they found a body inside. The person's name still has not been released. 

The medical examiner's office will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of death.
